An online security engineer who worked for two of Elon Musk’s companies resigned from the Fannie Mae board – just a day after he was named in a regulatory appearance.
Christopher Stanley, an online security expert who worked in Spacex, X and the Government Efficiency Department, suddenly resigned from the Fannie Mae Board of Directors just a day after his publication was announced, Bloomberg News reported.
Sudden removal was revealed through a regulatory appearance, but did not provide details about the cause of Stanley’s rapid exit.
Stanley was appointed on board along with Bill Pulte, director of the Federal Finance Agency of Housing and Clinton Jones, FHFA General Advisor.
FHFA oversees Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, two critical institutions in the US mortgage market that settled under the government conservative following the 2008 financial crisis.
Investors, including Bill Ackman and John Paulson, have consistently defended to release these entities again in private control – an action that is likely to significantly benefit shareholders.
A FHFA spokesman refused to comment while representatives from Stanley and Fannie Mae were not available for statements about his immediate resignation.
In front of his short board on the board of Fannie Mae, Stanley’s name was known in government and technological circles.
Documents obtained from Bloomberg News revealed that Stanley was appointed as a temporary expert within the personnel management office – although the specifics about his responsibilities remain unclear.
An OPM spokesman told the news page that Stanley “returned to the private sector last month” but did not provide further information.
Beyond the government and regulatory links, Stanley played an important role in the Universe of Musk’s corporations.
He joined the “basic transition team” on Twitter after the acquisition of Musk in October 2022.

Stanley is currently the head of security engineering on X and oversees Internet security operations at Spacex.
His profile of LinkedIn further identifies him as the leading security officer of the X Payments, an integral financial service for Musk’s ambition for X as an “app”.
Stanley has also been publicly recognized to facilitate the installation of the Starlink Spacex satellite internet service in the White House, emphasizing its significant impact within the musk orbit.
Before approximating Musk’s ventures, Stanley founded his online security firm. He also worked with the Kentucky Baptist Health -based Health Care.
Moreover, Techcrunch previously reported to discover a chatbot called the “AI Aistant Government Efficiency Department” powered by Xai in a subfield connected to Stanley’s personal website.
He claimed that her mission was to assist government staff in eliminating waste and regulating processes using Musk’s favored access.
