New York City’s pension funds have issued a call for the Moguli media billionaire Edgar Bronfman Jr. To testify in their lawsuit to block the Skydance-Paramount union, according to two sources close to the situation.
Pensions hope that former Warner’s former -Ceo music and current Fubotv executive chairman can shed light if the Rise Partners project has submitted a legitimate offer to challenge the Skydance $ 8 billion agreement to join Paramount, said a source with direct knowledge of the issue.
Daphna Ziman is leading the project growth offer, which she estimates at $ 8.8 billion without including the assumption of about $ 5 billion in debt. Bronfman has an action in Ziman’s Cinemoi, a bankruptly -focused cable cable network and film, according to Skydance.
Pensions-representing public service employees and oversees by the candidate for mayor of NYC Brad Lander-sent a 69-year-old bronfman call this week. He will be ordered by the Chancellery Court in Delaware, who has been dealing with the case, to answer questions next week or more, sources said.
“They want to know if PRP funding is legal,” one source said.
In a letter presented to the court earlier this month, Skydance called for a project to allegedly attempt to disrupt the union, claiming it has revealed evidence of “fraud” and “misappropriation” in the competitive offer.
Skydance also raised the opportunity that Bronfman, who made his late attempt to buy Paramount just to withdraw it in August, could have been after the Rise Project offer. If so, the Paramount Board already considered his offer and does not need it again, they argued.
“That Mr. Bronfman and/or ‘Bronfman Group’ have personal and economic relationships with
The Director of the PRP (Ms. Ziman) and the Union member (Mr. Goss) suggests the fraud of the PRP
The offer may be partially motivated by Mr. Bronfman and, at least,

Ziman and Bronfman refused to comment.
Initially, NYC pensions were requesting the court a restrictive order to block the union. Those who have withdrawn that request since then, but are thinking of recharging an order if Bronfman verifies that the bid of the re -project was legal, a source said.
If the Bronfman fails to prove that the PRP has adequate funding in the country, pensions are likely to wait to see if David’s long-lasting Skydance Union finally passes-and then sue the newly formed company allegedly suspecting, except for Shari Redstone’s shareholder control.
FCC has continued to sign in the Paramount Union while the agency investigates claims for the unilateral editing of an interview with Democratic Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris from the CBS “60 minutes” before the November elections.
